Current activities and updates! *Here’s hoping you have a wonderful and happy New Year full of creativity and warmth. We are fine tuning our class plans for the New Year and getting ready to kick off the new clubs. Most of the clubs will be starting in January so be sure to check the dates and sign up early. We would like to thank those of you that donated hats and mittens for our tree this year. We now have quite a collection that we will be taking to the Lake Superior Free Clinic for distribution to those in need. We would also like to thank those that participated in the Pink Ribbon Charity Quilt project. The blocks are still on the wall in the classroom if you would like to take a look at them before we make them into the quilt. We will be drawing the winner of the gift certificate sometime this month. | 2010 CHALLENGE Join us as we join the year long national challenge-spearheaded by American Patchwork & Quilting to create and donate 1 million pillowcases to local charities. Help us to make a difference many times over with those in need in our own community. Pillowcases that you make and drop off will be counted and then sent to various battered women shelters, nursing homes, the homeless shelters, children with serious illnesses. The handmade pillowcases that you contribute will be a special treasure to someone. Watch for specials offers we will be running throughout the year to help you make a difference in someone’s life. |
